Generals Prepared For Game 3 of Turner Cup Finals at Home Tonight at 7pm!

The Flint Generals are looking forward to stepping onto the ice in the friendly confines of Perani Arena for Game 3 of their Turner Cup Finals series against the Fort Wayne Komets tonight at 7pm. The Generals trail in the series 2 games to 0, but know that playing games 3 and 4 at home gives them a huge opportunity to get back into the series. Fort Wayne defeated the Generals 3-2 in Game 1 on Saturday and won 2-1 Monday night. The Generals have shown their resilience all season, and most recently last series when they trailed the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the semi finals 2 games to 0 and came back and won that series in 7 games. Generals First Round Playoff Schedule Finalized

The first round schedule of the Turner Cup Playoffs between the Flint Generals and the Muskegon Lumberjacks has been finalized. The series will be played in a 2-2-1-1-1 format with the first two games being played in Muskegon, games 3 and 4 in Flint. If necessary, game 5 will be in Muskegon, game 6 in Flint and if the series goes the distance, game 7 will be in Muskegon. All games have a 7pm start time. Read More!

Generals To Face Muskegon in Turner Cup Playoffs

FLINT, MI – It came down to the final day of the regular season, but the Flint Generals overcame overwhelming odds and squeezed into the Turner Cup Playoffs as the 4th and final seed. The Generals and Bloomington started the day tied with 73 points each and one game remaining for both teams. The PrairieThunder lost in Port Huron 4-1, while the Generals suffered a 2-1 setback in Fort Wayne. The second week of March IHL hockey begins Wednesday night for the Generals as they pay a visit to Dayton. Flint has won its last two battles with the Gems, once at home at Perani and one on the road. For the past couple of weeks the two teams have been tied for 6th place in their fight to make the playoffs, but with their win in Fort Wayne this past Sunday, the Generals took sole possession of 6th place and now find themselves 7 points out of a playoff spot. FLINT, MI – The Flint Generals kicked off their 40th season of professional hockey by splitting two home games this past weekend at Perani Arena and Event Center. Friday night’s season opener was a battle between the Generals and their western Michigan rival the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The evening began with a ceremonial puck drop with the new IHL Commissioner, and former NHL player, Dennis Hextall. Tyler Howells kicked off the scoring for the night with a power play goal less than three minutes into the game.
